Our counterweight assemblies undergo a meticulous pre-heat process to guarantee consistent and high-quality weld performance. We utilize a GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) process approved by major Marine Classification Societies, along with certified welding consumables, to weld the counterweights to the crankshaft. Prior to post-weld heat treatment, all weld-on counterweights undergo a magnetic particle inspection to ensure that no external defects are present. We also apply a full mechanical post-weld heat treatment to minimize the effects of heat-affected zones commonly found in GMAW welding processes. Additionally, our expert welders are qualified and certified per AWS structural welding code, D1.1.
