The International WorkBoat Show 2009 - 12/08/09
The International WorkBoat Show was held on December 2 through 4, 2009, in New Orleans, LA. This is the largest commercial marine trade show in North America. Ellwood Crankshaft Group was one of 1000 companies that exhibited their products and services for various companies that build, service, and operate commercial vessels. Maritime TV was the Official Webcaster of the WorkBoat 2009 event. Various seminars, keynotes, and interviews with exhibitors were featured.
OSHA Strategic Partnership - 11/14/09
Overview: With this agreement, OSHA and Ellwood Crankshaft Group's Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine, Inc. agree to work cooperatively to improve the safety and health management system at Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine, Inc. and to eliminate the hazards at the site that are the cause of injuries and illnesses to its workers. ECG uses this program to insure its Ellwood National Crankshaft and Ellwood National Crankshaft Services facility are also compliant with the OSHA Volunteer Protection Program. This layout featured the Ellwood National Crankshaft factory with outstanding facility photos as well as an in depth business description. Ellwood National Crankshaft is one of the largest employers in Warren County and has maintained a highly skilled workforce dating back to its beginning in 1910. ENC Article
Diesel Gas Turbine Worldwide - 10/30/09
In May 2008, Diesel Gas Turbine Worldwide featured the Ellwood Crankshaft Group on the front cover of its worldwide family of magazines including Compressor Tech 2. The article outlines ECG's penetration into the repair and service of aftermarket crankshafts utilized by the end users. Today, ECG reconditions well over 1000 crankshafts per year with services including regrinding, chrome plating, metalizing, high-velocity oxygen fuel, dialic brush plating and submerge arc welding to repair standards mutually agreed upon between ECG and the customer. The Ellwood Crankshaft Group was recognized nationally in American Machinist Magazine in 2007 as one of the 10 Best Machine Shops in the USA based on the criteria of revenue growth, cost of quality, work environment, company culture and level of reinvestment into the operation. Metal Forming 1968 - 10/19/09
In January of 1968, Metal Forming Magazine featured an article on the National Forge Company describing how the National Forge Company has successfully made thousands of cranks using a system of forging press, induction heating, and stiff leg cranes. While the back bone of this foreign system remains the same today, the press, heaters, power supplies, cranes and building structure has been upgraded with state-of-art technologies that have dramatically increased the original forging scope by Ellwood. Iron Age 1961 - 10/16/09
In 1961, the National Forge Company completed its installation of the most modern day forging facility for diesel engine crankshafts. Since 2003, the Ellwood Crankshaft Group purchased the assets from bankruptcy and continues this manufacturing marvel by harnessing state-of-the-art technologies and practices to supply crankshafts to OEM's around the world under the Ellwood flag, over $50,000,000 of capital has been invested into the facility.
