The Ellwood Crankshaft Group(ECG) is comprised of three world-class facilities, Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine, Ellwood National Crankshaft Services, and Ellwood National Crankshaft.  Our roots trace back to 1910, when crank manufacturing was part of the Ellwood City Forge and 1915 when ENC was originally part of the National Forge Company(NFC).

In 2003, the world's premier crankshaft manufacturer was created when the assets of NFC were acquired and the high production methodology of NFC and the custom one-of-a-kind processing was combined forming ECG.

Today, we are experts in custom engineered crankshafts, production crankshafts and reconditioning of field crankshafts. This expertise is unique not only in North America but throughout the world.

In the late 1950's, National Forge Company had the strategic vision to pursue a unique multi-directional forging press designed specifically for engine crankshafts.

As gas and oil began to be transported by pipeline, the pictured crankshafts were produced for the large diesel engines which powered the pumps and compressors, most of which were built in western New York State.

The National Forge Company started producing crankshafts in 1915.

In 1992, Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine was spun off from Ellwood City Forge. Ellwood City Forge's (ECF) crank making history dates back to 1910.

Ellwood's crankshaft manufacturing played a pivotal role in the World War efforts providing crankshafts from airplane engines to locomotives.

Ellwood's crankshaft expertise was wide and vast in the 1950's.
