CNC Lathe Operator

The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
-
Receives and reviews drawings, programs, sketches.
-
Constructs and loads CNC programs as necessary. Performs all required paperwork.

Edit/modify programs as necessary to meet customer specifications.
-
Measure, inspect, and make required adjustments to achieve correct product dimensions.
-
Loads and unloads machine with aid of an overhead crane.
-
Selects proper tooling, etc., sets indexing, determines base line, etc.
-
Changes cutter as necessary, indexes or replaces tooling as necessary.
-
Checks identification on all materials handled by stamping or marking order, heat and serial numbers.
-
Layout and center product as necessary.
-
Runs other nearby machinery while operating CNC lathe.
-
Operates milling machine to rough mill squares, centering and drawing parts, etc;

Operates engine lathe and various other machinery as required.
-
Deburr parts and move to the next workstation.
-
Lubricates machines, conveyor systems, checks and fills reservoirs, monitors chip hopper, etc.,

Performs minor maintenance as necessary and maintains working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.

Reports defective material and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
-
Observes all safety rules and regulations.

Perform other duties as deemed necessary
Minimum Qualifications
-
High School diploma or GED equivalent
-
Thorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
-
Ability to read and understand sketches, blue prints, and CNC programs.
-
Understanding and ability to layout parts
-
Operate a manual lathe
-
Thorough understanding of tools and fixturing.
-
Strong math skills.
-
Ability to work well with a team while also working independently.
-
Detailed oriented and ability to organize and prioritize.
-
Good written and verbal communication skills.
